When adding a piccolo to your range of instruments it can feel a little strange at first to get used to playing one. This is where the Yamaha 32 is really great, the lip plate design helps with the transition from flute to piccolo not only in terms of those initial weeks but also mid-performance. If you're swapping quickly onto a few bars of piccolo it's good for it to feel very similar to the lip plate on your normal flute.

As ever the Yamaha build quality and tuning is fantastic, we see many other 'cheaper' piccolos in our workshops that simply don't stand up to common usage and have really poor tuning. When you're playing up so high and exposed having bad intonation is definitely not what you want!
