The Martin CEO- Dreadnought Acoustic is a Special Edition guitar that is no longer in production. Designed by C.F. Martin IV, and features an Adirondack Spruce Top, Mahogany back and sides, and mahogany neck with a Black Micarta fretboard. The CEO-4 has Martin's Hybrid Scalloped X-Bracing that allows the top to vibrate more freely, yielding in a very open tone. Unusual for the model is that it is a slope shouldered dreadnought, rather than the square shouldered type we have come to expect from the folks at Martin. Also, instead of the typical modified V shape neck you find on a Martin Dreadnought, this features an modified low Oval shape, more reminiscent of the neck profile you would find again on a slope dread. Another interesting fact: only 409 of these CEO-4's in mahogany were made!

Adirondack has the highest strength to weight ratio of any other tonewood, and because of that Adirondack is ideal for flatpickers or players who play with a heavy attack and need the most volume and power possible. When combined with mahogany this CEO-4 has a warm, textured, and a very powerful tone. Perfect for strumming while accompanying songwriters, or cutting a track in the studio!
