The Gretsch G5422T Electromatic is a stunning Hollow Body that tips it's hat to the legendary double cut Gretschs of old. Featuring premium hollow body construction the Electromatic Hollow Body has a thick and complex resonant tone that screams classic Gretsch due in part to the 'black top' Filter'Tron pickups which Gretsch's RnD team based on a vintage Baldwin era pickup.

When you have a classic, popular model like the 5422 it's hard to improve on what you have. Gretsch have managed it though with a handful of updates. First and foremost there's the treble bleed on the master volume, a new 4 ply binding on the body and a rebound headstock. It looks and sounds stunning.

When the Gretsch R&D team recently unearthed a Baldwin-era Filter'Tron pickup with knockout punch and phenomenal twang, they incorporated its DNA into dynamic new "Black Top" Filter'Tron pickups, which now endow Electromatic hollow-body instruments such as the G5422T with an electrifying new voice and identity. The G5422T Electromatic Hollow Body is a sharp new Gretsch guitar with a bound double-cutaway hollow body featuring sound-post bracing and elegant bound f holes. Other features include a maple neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium frets and Pearloid Neo-classic 'Thumbnail' Markers, silver plexi pickguard with Gretsch Electromatic Logo, three-position pickup switch, classic "G" arrow control knobs, rosewood-based Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby-licensed B60 vibrato tailpiece, vintage-style open-back tuners and chromeplated hardware.
