Crafted in Japan, this Fender MIJ Mustang Bass Guitar is a faithful and discontinued 2007 reissue of the classic shortscale Fender model, with a factory installed split coil Seymour Duncan pickup. Finished in Fiesta Red with a white pearloid pickguard, this iteration of the Mustang Bass was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market. There's a certain pluck and punch unique to this bass that's particularly appealing and sits well in a mix, with a low end that doesn't have quite the breadth of a Precision pickup, but still fills out the sound nicely. A bit more aggressive and midrange forward than a P, this Mustang Bass is strung with D'addrio Chromes flatwound strings for a particularly sweet and thumpy sound.

The maple neck features a medium C shaped profile and the roundness and shoulders on the profile increase quite a bit in the higher registers of the fretboard. The fretboard is a generous slab of rosewood which adds a real richness and warmth to the overall tone. The scale length is 30", while the fretboard radius matches vintage spec at 7 1/4" and the nut width measures 1 1/2".

The simple and straightforward electronics (Master Volume and Tone) control and govern the split coil Seymour Duncan pickup. The chrome bridge and control plate shine on and the white pearloid pickguard is a nice contrast to the Fiesta Red finish. A fantastic little bass guitar that should sit proudly at the top of anyone's collection! Grab a piece of Fender history with this simply stunning Japanese-made Mustang bass! Excellent condition.
