Mid-range to the max

The Fulltone Secret Freq Overdrive is a responsive and touch-sensitive overdrive pedal that comes to the rescue of guitars getting lost in the mix. The standard 6-string guitar is, at its core, an instrument that sits firmly within the midrange a lot of the time, and therefore will have to compete with a range of similar instruments in the mix of a live show. The Fulltone Secret Freq Overdrive provides you with a ‘Freq’ control that brings a highly focused mid-range boost into your signal, to let the most important frequencies of your guitar sound shine straight through the mix.

Not the usual mid control

The Fulltone Secret Freq can act as a 20dB mid boost but is not the usual passive design that most pedals incorporate. It acts almost like a wah-wah circuit but without the usual loss of treble and bass frequencies. It provides additional sustain and a very musical mid-range boost to get your guitar tone singing and make sure it finds its way through the densest of band mixes. If you’ve found yourself having to constantly turn up your amp on stage to be heard, this could be the answer that you’ve been searching for.

Nuanced overdrives

The Fulltone Secret Freq doesn’t have to act entirely as a mid-boost pedal; when the Freq control is dialed down it simply acts as a transparent and extremely touch-sensitive overdrive pedal. It gives you all the amp-like response that Fulltone pedals are known for and can be used as a clean boost or as a pure overdrive sound. You can achieve everything from low range overdrive/clean boost tones through to high-gain and sustaining overdrive sounds. All of these great features will allow you to find your own unique sound, and are all encased within a sturdy and compact steel chassis.
